Uh, Gone With The Wind? True Grit, (John Wayne), Outlaw Josey Wales? What about Patton, Full Metal Jacket, or Napoleon? How about the Sting, Glen Gary/Glen Ross?

I personally believe that City Lights is a better Chaplin film than Modern Times. You can't beat that ending.

You are absolutely right! City Lights is strong throughout, but as you say, the ending is unsurpassed!

Amadeus isn't on this list??? A Streetcar Named Desire? A few glaring omissions but not too bad.

Amadeus a very over rated film. I'm glad it didn't make the list. The first half of the picture about Mozart's emergence was brilliant. The second half just fell off the shelf, Boring. It seemed as if the picture had two different directors.

I didn't see the titles with the accompaning pictures. Are we supposed to know all the scenes from these movies. It would've been nice if the titles were included. I don't recall seeing Tootsie, Shane or High Noon on this list. Big oversight.

"Annie Hall" is Woody Allen's most over rated movie. "Manhattan" is a superior flick. Somehow, the critics fell in love with "Annie" or they felt they had to salute him for his work. If "Manhattan" was produced before "Annie", I believe it would have received the acclaimation it deserved.

Did anyone see " Witness for the Prosecution" on the list?
    • High Roller  •  Cleveland, Ohio  •  1 month 18 days ago
Is Days of WIne and Roses on the list? What about Born on the Fourth of July? Shindler's List, Judgement at Nuremburgh, Raisin in the Sun, Witness for the Prosecution: are these superb films on the list? If not, the list is incomplete.

in the 100 funniest list... it was a crime to leave off Revenge of the Pink Panther, especially in light of some of the films that actually made the list. shame, shame.

This list is no more than one person's opinion of what movies they like personnally. There are certainly some top quality pics that would make anybody's list but the majority are merely mediocre. The last 25 or so are just repeats so you don't get a complete 100. 12 Angry Men is pictured but not on the list. What's up with that?

I completely agree with twelve angry men and shawshenk rendemption, both I have seen and could continue to watch over and over again....I didn't know jack klugman could really act until I saw this film (eventhough I was a HUGE quincy fan)

While this movie might not make the top 100 list, I actually think Jude Law's performance in Alfie was impressive. Some people only saw the movie as a bit of fluff; but it was a well written, well performed character study of a man who is incapable of loving anyone other than himself. The soundtrack was excellent.

No Gone with the Wind or Ben Hur? I guess this show the impossibility of making a 100 movie list everyone will agree on, especially if you try to include international films.
