Meyer gained the attention of the public in the recurring role of a professor's wife who falls for Jason Priestley's Brandon Walsh on the popular series "Beverly Hills, 90210" during the 1993-94 season. Meyer then segued to the big screen landing the leading female role of Jane, the computer-enhanced Amazonian hired to protect Keanu Reeves' courier "Johnny Mnemonic" (1995).
