Who's to say no good can come from a bounty hunter who works for Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt? People visiting the beach near Los Angeles Friday, January 6, would most definitely disagree. "Star Wars" actor Daniel Logan just happened to be in the right place at the right time and saved a life because of it.
Logan was spending the day at the beach and in a matter of minutes went from being known as the most notorious bounty hunter in the universe to one little girl's superhero. According to Logan's Facebook page, he was hanging out when he witnessed a 6-year-old girl being pulled in by the undertow of a massive wave. Logan swam out and saved the girl from drowning.
"I was at the beach today & saved a young girl, she was probably about 6 year old, from drowning," the actor posted on his Facebook page. "She was caught in the undertow of a huge wave."
He commented on his post later after so many fans told him what a great thing he had done: "I want to thank everyone for all the kind posts. Means a lot to me! I am thankful I was there to be of help to the little girl. Something I will never forget."
The 24-year-old actor is best known for his role as young Boba Fett in "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones." The character witnesses his father Jango Fett get beheaded in a battle with the Jedi Knights, which sets him on a path of revenge that has him run into Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and the Rebel Alliance in the original trilogy of films. The character has become so famous that he was digitally added to "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope" after fans demanded more of the infamous bounty hunter.
Logan reprised the role of young Boba Fett by voicing the character in the second season of Cartoon Network's "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" TV series. Fett showed up in a three-episode arc that had the young bounty hunter looking to take revenge on the Jedi who killed his father. He's also voiced clone cadets for the series in a couple of different episodes.
The actor has become a fan favorite from his many appearances at sci-fi conventions worldwide over the past few years. He's a cordial young man who never shies away from taking a picture or giving an autograph to admirers. You'll never see Logan without a smile on his face.
The actor was born in New Zealand, where he won a role as the player on a rugby team when he was 10 years old. From there he got small roles in other projects, like the New Zealand medical series "Shortland Street" and a guest appearance on the hit show "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys." Logan was 14 when he scored the role for "Attack of the Clones" and forever cemented his place in "a galaxy far, far away." He currently resides in Los Angeles.
