Jay Penske, the car-racing heir and new Variety owner, and his brother Mark were sentenced to pre-trial probation Monday.
They will be required to do 50 hours of community service, attend counseling, and refrain from alcohol abuse, according to the Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror.
Jay Penske is CEO of PMC Media, which earlier this month purchased the entertainment trade newspaper Variety with financial backing from Daniel Loeb's Third Point hedge fund. PMC also owns several blogs, including TVLine.com, Deadline.com and HollywoodLife.com. The brothers are the sons of Roger Penske, the billionaire racing mogul and NASCAR owner.
The pair was arrested Aug. 9, after an incident in which they allegedly broke into the Nantucket Yacht Club. Two women said the men assaulted them in the club's parking lot and that one of the brothers (said to be Jay) had urinated on her boots. One of the women also said the men pushed her.
