The CW's potential spinoff of The Vampire Diaries has enlisted the services of Claire Holt.
The actress, who plays Rebekah Mikaelson on the CW drama, has been tapped to join the network's potential spinoff The Originals, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Originals revolves around Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he helped build centuries ago, where he is reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel (The Game's Charles Michael Davis).
Holt will reprise her role as original vampire Rebekah, Klaus' half-sister. In addition to Morgan and Daniel Gillies' Elijah, Holt joins a cast that includes Phoebe Tonkin, who will reprise her role as werewolf Hayley; Daniella Pineda and Danielle Campbell, who will play witches named Sophie and Davina, respectively; and Sorority Row's Leah Pipes, who will play Camille, a human unaware of the supernatural universe that exists around her.
The planted pilot will air April 25 as an episode of The Vampire Diaries. Showrunner Julie Plec will pen the script for Warner Bros. Television.
Holt, who has been recurring since season three of The Vampire Diaries, is repped by CAA, Affirmative and Stone Meyer. Her credits also include an arc on Pretty Little Liars and The N's H20: Just Add Water.
