James Marsh listening to 'Vatican Tapes'

James Marsh, the director of the doc "Man on Wire," is jumping into the genre feature world and will direct "The Vatican Tapes," a supernatural thriller from Lionsgate and Lakeshore.

The story centers on a series of events that unfold after a tape gets leaked from the Vatican displaying an exorcism that goes wrong.

Chris Borrelli wrote the screenplay based on a story by Borrelli and Chris Morgan.

Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg, Chris Cowles and Morgan are producing. Borrelli and Chris Fenton are executive producing.

Marsh's "Wire," which told the story of Philippe Petit and his walk between New York's Twin Towers, won an Oscar.

Despite making his name in the doc world with "Wire" and several other films, CAA-repped Marsh has made no secret of his feature ambitions. He dipped his toes into feature waters with the 2005 drama "The King," which starred Gael Garcia Bernal.
