'Twilight' star Kellan Lutz defends Gisele

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — "Twlight" star Kellan Lutz sympathizes with Gisele Bundchen.

Earlier in the week, some criticized the supermodel and wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after an email she reportedly sent to friends and family encouraging them to pray for her husband's success in the Super Bowl game against the New York Giants was leaked.

"I found that very endearing," Lutz said about the email. "Very sweet to have a wife do that for her husband and give that positive energy. I think we all need that in the world. To listen to the news broadcasters ... be negative towards that, I think it is really (bad)."

The die-hard football fan, who just attended the Pro Bowl, kicked off Super Bowl weekend by attending a Friday night party hosted by Audi. Lutz, who has been to Super Bowl weekend before, said he wants the Patriots to win Sunday.

"They have a great team. Solid team," he said. "I fell in love with Tom Brady. Met him once. Really great guy and they have a really solid team. Even if Tom isn't playing, their team is solid."

The actor may be known for his rock solid body, but says it dwarfs in comparison to the NFL players.

"All of these guys are definitely big guys," Lutz said with a smile. "I feel small. It is a weird feeling because in Hollywood you work with actors who are small. I love sports. I love football."

Other attendees at the Audi party included director Spike Lee, football great Jim Brown, Sherri Shepherd of ABC's "The View," and "Glee" star Matthew Morrison.

Morrison said he's rooting for a Giants win: "I lived in New York for 13 years." He also said he was enjoying the energy in the city: "They're real die-hard football fans here."

Audi wasn't the only party in Indianapolis on Friday night. There were several celebrity soirees, including one thrown by Playboy, where Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hung out in the VIP area as lingerie-clad acrobats dangled from ropes from the ceiling.

This was an email meant for her friends and family only. Shame on the person that leaked it for the wrong purposes.

What a shocker! "Woman wishes husband success and asks for prayers!" Oh, the horror!

When did it become "wrong" for a spouse to wish and hope and want the best for their spouse?

There's got to be a better news story than this.

To be honest I think there is too much drama made over the Superbowls...

Some friends and family Gisele has releasing her private emails to the media anyway!
    • rikk  •  Denver, Colorado  •  3 months ago
First of all, she sent a PRIVATE e-mail to her family and friends, so none of you haters should have read the #$%$ thing in the first place. Secondly, it was not "mushy", it was sincere, and remember English is her second language, so I think she did a fine job expressing herself to her FAMILY and FRIENDS, not the mean spirited media oulets!!
      • Carrotco 3 months ago
but you read it too, didn't you?
      • rikk 3 months ago
No #$%$ Sherlock. I read it because some #$%$ forwarded it to the media, who proceeded to make a non-story out of it. It's not like I'm hacking her e-mail account.

Why is asking someone to pray for anyone for any reason a problem? It's a kind gesture. Do we have to put a negative spin on everything? God obviously has a sense of humor, He's allowed humans to survive this long hasn't he.

Please people, pray he gets a raise....... HEY LETS PUT THAT AS A HEADLINE ON THE NEWS!!!! I HOPE MY BOYFRIEND DOES WELL!!! RI-DI-CU-LOUS!!!!

      Why all the fuss?

Wow, what a non-issue this is! She can pray and ask for prayers for anything she wants, who cares? I mean really, what difference does it make in anybody else's lives?!
      • Xm 3 months ago
What's the difference?!? Do you also look as dumb as you sound? I believe the issue--which obviously eludes your feeble sense of comprehension--is that it was a SELFISH & INCONSIDERATE request to pose to a being/presence that created all things in the universe

The difference it may (but hopefully not) make is that other shallow thinkers (like yourself) might think it's o.k. to pray for things seemingly harmless on the surface, but in actuality thoughtless & selfish. You need to get a grip & TRY (I realize it'll be hard for you), but try to think BEYOND superficiality
      • LAsoozq 3 months ago
While I actually AGREE with you that this obviously isn't the most pressing prayer for God to answer with a "Yes, Giselle, I'll help you with this," the fact remains it's nobody else's business to censor her prayers. It's up to God to deal with her, nobody else. Your quick condemnation of me and my character seems to show a lack of tolerance for others. I am not dumb, nor do I think that you are. Passionate, yes, you are! I just wish you could calm down and listen to opposing viewpoints without jumping down someone's throat.

Exactly...she wrote a personal email to friends and family, not a press release. Blame the fink who made it public.
      • silversurfer427 3 months ago
Dennis, it is reported...that makes it news, whether it is entertainment (doubtful) sports, business, world, local, etc, it is reported as news...this is not news...

this is news? a woman asks her friends and family to wish her husband good luck...and she was criticized!? not only that, but that was apparently so blasphemous that she would email someone that, that its news that some not-that-famous guy says that it was fine. wow. i wish that all the reporters that worked on this story quit or get fired immediately. its their fault the economy sucks and im gonna go ahead and blame global warming on them too.

    • Risu  •  San Diego, California  •  3 months ago
I couldn't care less that she asked her friends to pray for her husband's success. It's her faith... and their choice. Why is this news?
