Imprint Entertainment ("Twilight," "Kid Cannabis") has acquired the movie rights to "Godsent" from Richard Burton and Arcade Publishing, an imprint of Skyhorse Publishing, the company announced on Monday.

"Godsent", the debut novel by Burton, is a thriller which revolves around the child of 17-year old virgin Kate Skylar. The book is set against a backdrop of political turmoil and dueling factions within the church.

"Richard Burton is a master storyteller who has created an amazingly visual page turner," said Imprint Entertainment CEO Michael Becker.

Imprint Entertainment also recently optioned Pam Grier's "Foxy, My Life in Three Acts", and is in post-production on "Kid Cannabis," directed by Jon Stockwell (starring Ron Perlman and Jonathan Daniel Brown), "Pawn," (staring Forest Whitaker, Michael Chiklis, Common, Martin Csokas, Sean Faris, Stephen Lang, Ray Liotta, Nikki Reed, and Jessica Szhor), and "My Man is a Loser." Imprint is currently in pre-production in "Overkill" with Mike Mendez directing.
