In the new movie "Think Like a Man" (2012), comedian-turned-author Steve Harvey gives great advice to the ladies, but the results make their men feel out of control. After finding out where the ladies are getting their ideas, the guys try to turn the tables.
Who will win this battle-of-the-sexes comedy? Moviegoers in the Los Angeles had lots of opinions on the film. Here are some opening day quotes from viewers in a theater in Pasadena.
"It was surprisingly funny! The cast made this movie. Kevin Hart pretty much steals the whole movie as the character Cedric. It's got some sexy guys in it, too, like Michael Ealy. Each guy has a different personality. There's a great kiss in this movie. The ladies own the movie, though. It was all right. I want to see it again." -- Cherie Sandaly, Los Angeles
"It's like an old movie because it had a funny, happy ending, and you like the characters. The plot is good, the acting was great, and I love Taraji P. Henson and a lot of the actors in this movie. I took my boyfriend and we had a good time. This movie made me laugh, a lot. They should make more movies like this one." -- Norma Iwaoka, Monterey Park
"It was cool the way Steve Harvey narrates it. I loved all the comedians who pop up in the movie in cameos. The music was good. My favorite was the James Brown song ('It's a Man's World') in the beginning. That song fit this movie to a T. Jennifer Hudson and Ne-Yo sing the title song, and I've heard that on the radio a lot. It was a good plot too, even kind of touching sometimes." -- Lavon Hadley, Los Angeles
"After this movie, women think they've got us all figured out, but I don't think so. I thought there was too much talking in the movie too. Sometimes the lines were going so fast, you'd have to see it twice to catch it all. It did have a few laughs, so I give it a B." -- Raymond Muccitelli, Los Angeles
"It's nothing really new but it's fun to follow the couples along. There's a lot of stuff going on all at once. It's very high energy, with a great soundtrack, so that was fun. I would recommend it, but maybe only adults would enjoy it. It's not for kids." -- Armond Gharibian, Glendale
"That movie was hilarious. It's broken up into different parts [as] you follow four or five different relationships along. There's the player, and the momma's boy, and different characters like that. I laughed through the whole thing, and everybody in the theater laughed through it all too. So yeah, this is a good one. I liked that it wasn't too raunchy. It's just a really good, well-written, funny movie -- the kind you go see to have a good time." -- Susan Whitman, Los Angeles
