Girls' Christopher Abbott and Gaby Hoffman play siblings forced to take in the father who abandoned them and their dying mother a decade earlier in Burma, a searing new domestic drama from writer-director Carlos Puga set to debut at the South by Southwest Film Festival on Wednesday, March 13.
With a family reunion approaching, Abbott's character Christian is surprised when his long lost father shows up on his door, claiming he can justify his disappearance. Christian, addicted to drugs and still mourning the loss of his mother, reluctantly agrees to bring his father to the event, plunging the already volatile family dynamic into chaos.
In the first of these two exclusive images from Burma, Hoffman's character Susan faces off with her father Dr. Lynn (Christopher McCann). In the second, Abbott stands with young actress Jacintha Puga, who plays his character's niece Charlie in the film.
