Summer Lovin': Romantic Comedies to Look Forward to in 2012's Hottest Months

If you're a romantic with a soft spot for sweet stories, there is plenty of fare for you to check out this summer. Head to the theater, load up on popcorn, and enjoy these various romantic films for the perfect summer movie escape.

    "To Rome With Love"

"Midnight in Paris" writer/director Woody Allen is back with his 43rd movie. This romantic comedy centers on various short stories starring notable actors such as Allen himself, Alec Baldwin, Penelope Cruz, and Jesse Eisenberg, to name a few.

"To Rome With Love" consists of four vignettes based in the Italian capital full of romance, comedy, and chaos. Allen also includes some popular Italian actors in the film, including actor and filmmaker Roberto Benigni ("Life Is Beautiful").

    "Hope Springs"

There aren't too many romantic comedies made about people getting older. This movie, starring Tommy Lee Jones in a rare romantic role, explores the marital issues of Jones and his wife, played by Meryl Streep. The couple undergoes counseling with a therapist played by comedic actor Steve Carell, whose sweet face makes him actually seem perfect for this part. It's a story about the trials of lasting love and the humor of it.

    "Celeste + Jesse Forever"

Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg play Celeste and Jesse, an atypical romantic comedy pairing. In the film, the two portray exes who somehow manage to sustain a friendship. However, their unusual relationshp proves to be difficult when it's revealed the pair may still have feelings for each other that go beyond platonic.

"Seeking a Friend for the End of the World"

This interesting story tells the tale of two people, played by Carell and Keira Knightley, who come together right before the demise of the planet. Sounds pretty serious, but there are some laughs between the unlikely duo as they share their last days.

"Seeking a Friend" is being billed a science-fiction comedy. There certainly aren't too many of those, so this definitely looks like a must-watch.
