    'Skyfall' Adds Another $156M in Second Week Overseas

    "Skyfall," the 23rd film in the James Bond series, grossed a staggering $156 million abroad this weekend, bringing the overseas total to $287 million after just 10 days.

    Sony will open "Skyfall" in the U.S. on Nov. 9.

    With the success of "Skyfall," Sony Pictures Releasing International has posted its all-time biggest year at $2.16 billion, topping the previous best $2.14 billion in 2009. Worldwide, Sony is at $3.6 billion and steaming toward $4 billion.

    "Skyfall" opened with a huge $23.9 million in Germany, which was the biggest opening of 2012, and 77% bigger than the openining of "Quantum of Solace" and 88% bigger than "Casino Royale," the last two Bond films. It launched in Italy with $7.9 million, which was the biggest opening of a Hollywood film this year.

    The Imax results continued to be spectacular. "Skyfall" brought in $4.3 million in 132 locations over 36 territories, or $33,000 per screen. For the second consecutive week, "Skyfall" posted the best international non-summer/non-holiday opening weeknd ever on Imax. The overall Imax gross for "Skyfall" after 10 days is $10 million.

    "Skyfall" stars Daniel Craig as 007. Sam Mendes ("Revolutionary Road") directs a cast that includes Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris.

    Sony's markets earned an estimated $139 million for the weekend and MGM's licensees did an estimated $17 million.
