Shawn Levy Circling 'This Is Where I Leave You'

Warner Bros. is in negotiations with Shawn Levy to direct "This Is Where I Leave You," a rep for Levy has told TheWrap.

Adam Shankman was previously lined up to direct the film, but will now serve as a producer on the picture, along with Jennifer Gibgot, Paula Weinstein and Jeff Levine.

The project has been in development since 2009, when Warners picked up the film rights to Jonathan Tropper's novel of the same name.

The story follows a man that requests upon his death that his atheist family sit shiva, which is to say the week-long mourning period honored by the Jewish religion.

In the book, the death of Judd Foxman's father marks the first time that the entire Foxman family has come together in years. They spend a week under the same roof when longstanding grudges quickly resurface and new and old secrets are revealed.

Levy is completing the Fox comedy "The Internship" with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.
