Story follows a man who loses his chef job and starts up a food truck to reclaim his artistic promise and estranged family at the same time. Johansson will play Molly, the restaurant manager and sometimes love interest of Favreau’s character, chef Carl Casper.
Production is set to begin July 8 in Los Angeles.
“Scarlett is a tremendous talent and I’m honored to be collaborating with her again. I’m so fortunate to be working with such a fine ensemble,” Favreau said.
CAA packaged the deal and reps U.S. distribution rights.
Jere Hausfater and Philip Elway negotiated on behalf of Aldamisa.
