Rupert Murdoch Tweets About 'Scumbag Celebrities'; Calls Obama Israel 'Nightmare'

News Corp. Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch unleashed a Twitter tirade Saturday, in which he railed against U.K. privacy laws and what he sees as the Obama administration’s tenuous relationship with Israel.

The media mogul, whose News Corp. has been embroiled in a British phone hacking scandal, slammed a report of British Prime Minister David Cameron meeting with stars who were pushing for stricter privacy laws.

“Told UK's Cameron receiving scumbag celebrities pushing for even more privacy laws,” Murdoch tweeted. “Trust the toffs! Transparency under attack. Bad.”

Murdoch, 81, also took issue with Vice President Joe Biden’s comments during Thursday’s VP debate, saying Biden exaggerated the nature of President Obama’s relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Nightmare for Israel if Obama wins,” Murdoch tweeted. “Biden outright lied about personal relations with Bibi.” He added that it would be a “nightmare” if U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice were given the nod for Secretary of State. Hillary Clinton has said she will step down from the position after November’s presidential election, and Rice’s name has been floated as a possible replacement.

Murdoch also slammed Biden’s debate comments in which he said the White House was unaware the State Department had requested more security for diplomats it Libya prior to an attack on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.

“White House still lying about Benghazi. HAD to know truth, or is whole admin a shambles?” he tweeted. “Biden threw CIA under bus, now WH throws State!”

Murdoch previously praised Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s performance in the first debate against Obama, and advised the candidate to focus on jobs during the second debate.
