Relativity Media has formed a new international sales and distribution division, Relativity Foreign, in hopes of broadening the company's scope, the company announced on Wednesday.
Industry veteran Camela Galano has been named president, reporting to Relativity's founder and CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and President Tucker Tooley.
Relativity Foreign will handle foreign sales and international distribution management on behalf of Relativity's titles as well as third-party releases.
Galano most recently was the founder and CEO of the Los Angeles-based global sales and distribution company Speranza13 Media.
Before that, she served as the president of international film acquisitions for Warner Bros. and was president of international sales, marketing and distribution at New Line Cinema, where she worked on the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and played key roles in box-office hits as "Austin Powers," "Blade," "Rush Hour" and "Final Destination."
FilmNation has been handling foreign sales for Relativity titles and will finish up sales duties on the films it has been working on for the company, including titles like "Safe Haven" and "21 and Over."
"The launch of Relativity Foreign takes our model and approach to the international marketplace," Kavanaugh said in a statement. "We are excited to grow our global presence and Camela is the perfect person to help lead our new foreign sales and distribution efforts as we continue to build our studio."

Since Relativity established its international network of foreign output partners, the studio has taken in approximately $893 million in box-office receipts internationally with such titles as "Immortals," "Season of the Witch," "Mirror Mirror," "Sanctum," "The Forbidden Kingdom," and "The Fighter."
