Paul Rudd Talks Raunchy This Is 40 Scenes & Prepping For Anchorman Sequel

Paul Rudd gets real - like, uncomfortably real - in the upcoming film "This Is 40," and Access Hollywood caught up with the actor to get the dirt on shooting the movie's most awkward scenes (specifically an at-home, amateur proctology exam given by his on-screen wife).

"There were a lot of crazy [moments], but I think lying on my back and asking Leslie Mann to see if she can see a hemorrhoid in my butt would rank as one of the weirder ones," Paul told Access Hollywood at the premiere of the "Knocked Up" sort-of-sequel in Los Angeles on Wednesday. "Yeah - not for just this movie, but probably [the craziest] of any movie I've ever worked on!"

Despite the cringe-worthy material, Paul was thrilled to reunite with director Judd Apatow - aka Leslie's real-life husband -- for the raunchy comedy.

"I like the way he kinds of lets us do whatever it is we wanna do," Paul told Access of Judd's directing style. "It kind of opens every scene up to improvisation and he lets cameras keep rolling and he never yells 'cut.'"

Adding, "So sometimes the best stuff will happen much later, and I like that."

In addition to "This Is 40," Paul will soon star in yet another highly anticipated sequel - "Anchorman 2."

"We're all coming back - it starts shooting in the spring," he said of reuniting with Will Ferrell and company for the Ron Burgundy-centered sequel. "I'm very excited for it."

In order to properly reprise his role as Brian Fantana, Paul is letting his locks grow out.

"['Anchorman 2'] is why my hair looks like John Taylor from Duran Duran right now," he said with a laugh. "By the time we start shooting 'Anchorman,' hopefully it'll be in a place that will fit the time period."
