TORONTO – Lionsgate veteran Wayne Levin has re-upped as general counsel and chief strategic officer of the indie studio.
Levin, as the Vancouver-based company’s senior legal and business affairs executive, will continue to report to Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer and work closely with vice chairman Michael Burns and co-COO Brian Goldsmith on M&A activities.
His contract renewal follows Levin stick-handling Lionsgate’s new, five-year $800 million revolving credit facility and helping the indie studio steadily reduce its debt load after 2012's takeover of Summit Entertainment.
"Wayne has played a key role in Lionsgate's evolution into a leading global entertainment company," said Feltheimer and Burns Wednesday. "We look forward to his continued counsel and expertise in helping to chart a strategic direction for the company that maintains our growth trajectory while retaining our focus on delivering our balance sheet.”
Levin joined Lionsgate in October 2000 after working at Trimark Pictures.
