    'Lincoln' Leads Critics' Choice Movie Awards Nominees With Record-Setting 13 Mentions

    Lincoln leads the nominations for the Broadcast Film Critics Association's 18th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards with a record-setting 13 nominations. 

    Les Miserables follows with 11 noms, while Silver Linings Playbook is cited in 10 categories. Other leading contenders are Life of Pi with nine noms, followed by Argo, The Master and Skyfall with seven apiece.

    Steven Spielberg's Abraham Lincoln biopic, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th president, beat out previous record holder Black Swan, which had 12 nominations in 2011.

    The movie received noms for best picture, best actor for Day-Lewis, supporting actor for Tommy Lee Jones, supporting actress for Sally Field and best director for Spielberg. Its other noms came in the categories of acting ensemble, adapted screenplay, cinematography, art direction, editing, costume design, makeup and score.

    Tom Hooper's musical Les Miserables and David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook also will vie for best picture, along with Ben Affleck's Argo, Benh Zeitlin's Beasts of the Southern Wild, Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, Ang Lee's Life of Pi, Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom and Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty.

    Jennifer Lawrence leads the female nominees with noms for best actress, best actress in a comedy and best acting ensemble for Silver Linings Playbook as well as best actress in an action movie for The Hunger Games.

    Lawrence's Playbook co-star, Bradley Cooper, leads the males with noms for best actor, best actor in a comedy and best acting ensemble.

    Skyfall's Judi Dench and 9-year-old Beasts of the Southern Wild breakout Quvenzhané Wallis also received multiple nominations.

    The BFCA also announced its first-ever fan-voted award. Moviegoers will be able to vote online for their favorite film franchise from a list of nominees that include Batman, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, James Bond/007, Lord of the Rings, Spider-Man, Star Trek, Star Wars, Toy Story and Twilight.

    The Critics’ Choice winners will be announced at a Jan. 10 ceremony taking place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The show, produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment, will air live at 8 p.m. on The CW.
