Leighton Meester Chops Off Her Hair: "I Love It!"

Say hello to the new and improved Leighton Meester!

The actress debuted a shorter hairstyle at the Flaunt magazine dinner in her honor at Ink restaurant in West Hollywood Oct. 25. "I chopped off my hair after Gossip Girl wrapped," the 26-year-old told Just Jared. "My long, wavy hair got a lot of mileage, so it was time for a change."

The brunette star entrusted Gossip Girl hairstylist Lizzie Reilly to give her the mane makeover. "I love it," Meester (in Mary Katrantzou) gushed. "I hop out of the shower and it takes five minutes to dry!"

Meester isn't the only Gossip Girl star who got a new look once the show finished production in mid-October. Penn Badgley, 25, shaved off his big, curly locks in favor of a more streamlined buzz cut.

Gossip Girl will end Dec. 10 after six seasons. "It'll be bittersweet. I'm sure we all want to go on to. . . not bigger things, but different things," Badgley told Us Weekly earlier this year. "It will be a complicated feeling of ambivalence."
