A full trailer for "The Avengers" has finally hit the Internet after months of teaser clips and poster art kept us salivating in anticipation. The trailer gives us better looks at all the characters we've already seen in action. The big draw to watch this trailer comes with the first solid footage of Mark Ruffalo and the Incredible Hulk.
Besides their souped-up costumes, there's not much new to really get excited about for Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Nick Fury. We know what we can expect from them. It is cool to see them interacting with each other, but that's about all there is to thrill fans.
What everybody is waiting to see is how the Incredible Hulk will be handled in "The Avengers." According to this new trailer, the Hulk looks a lot like he did in his last movie. The animation used to bring him to life looks the same to me. It might be a little bit more textured because of advances in computer graphics, but the overall physical appearance of the character looks similar.
Mark Ruffalo will no doubt make a great Bruce Banner. He has proved himself to be a great dramatic and comedic actor, which will help him in the company of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth. Both of them have shown they can successfully inject humor into their characters when it's called for.
Ruffalo is the third actor to take on the role of Dr. Bruce Banner on the big screen. Eric Bana played him in Ang Lee's "Hulk" in 2003. Edward Norton played the character in Louis Leterrier's "The Incredible Hulk" in 2008. When talks with Norton to reprise the role in "The Avengers" broke down, the role was passed on to Ruffalo.
The movie studio and producers of "The Avengers" seem to be putting the focus on Loki (Tom Hiddleston) as the main villain. I find it hard to believe Loki will be the movie's only villain. I can't see how he could possibly be the sole enemy a major group of superheroes is fighting against. There has to be someone or something working with him that hasn't been revealed yet.
Joss Whedon directs "The Avengers." Whedon and Zak Penn wrote it. Besides Ruffalo, it stars Downey, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner. It's set to be released on May 4, 2012.
