Film notables Tony Scott, Michael Clarke Duncan, Ernest Borgnine and Nora Ephron passed away. We bid farewell to TV stars Larry Hagman, Andy Griffith, Phyllis Diller, Jack Klugman and newsman Mike Wallace. Publishing lost Helen Gurley Brown and Andrew Breitbart, and the music world lost Whitney Houston, Andy Williams and Robin Gibb. Even the eternal teenager, Dick Clark. proved mortal.
