    Hollywood Movie Events in Los Angeles March 16-22, 2012

    Hollywood movie events this week feature two red carpet premieres -- for "Mirror Mirror" and "American Reunion" -- plus two Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies -- for Malcolm McDowell and the Muppets. Also, Will Ferrell and other stars and filmmakers appear at screenings around Los Angeles; USC celebrates "100 Years of Paramount" Pictures; UCLA continues its tribute to Spencer Tracy; and more!

    Malcolm McDowell gets his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6714 Hollywood Blvd. at 11:30 a.m. Anyone may watch the ceremony for free. In honor of McDowell, the nearby Egyptian will screen "A Clockwork Orange" (1971) and "Time After Time" (1979) at 7:30 p.m., with the actor appearing between shows for a Q&A. Tickets are $11.00.

    It's an "Alien" (1979) and "Aliens" (1986) Double Feature Drink-Along at the Downtown Independent at 251 S. Main at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.00.

    The "Spencer Tracy: That Natural Thing" series continues with "Father of the Bride" (1950) and "The Actress" (1953) airing at 7:30 p.m. at the Billy Wilder Theater. Admission is $9.00 at 10899 Wilshire Blvd. Check dates and times for other films featured in this series this week.

    "The FP" (2012) will screen at the Cinefamily at midnight on March 16 and March 17. The cast and crew will be in attendance both nights at 611 Fairfax. Admission is $12.00.

    The red carpet premiere of "Mirror Mirror" (2012) starring Julia Roberts takes place at Grauman's Chinese Theatre at 10:00 a.m. It's free to watch the stars arrive at 5:00 p.m. at 6925 Hollywood Blvd.

    Filmmaker Jon Jost will appear for a Q&A before his film "Angel City" (1980) at the Cinefamily at 5:00 p.m. Admission is $12.00.

    Will Ferrell will appear for a Q&A following his film "Casa de Mi Padre" (2012) at the Arclight Hollywood. The show begins at 5:30 p.m. at 6360 Sunset Blvd. Admission is $14.00.

    A sneak preview of "Damsels in Distress" (2012) airs at the Cinefamily at 8:00 p.m. followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Whit Stillman and star Analeigh Tipton. The cost is $12.00.

    It's a Cameron Crowe double feature of "Say Anything" (1989) and "Almost Famous" (2000) at the New Beverly at 7165 Beverly Blvd. through March 19. Check times. Admission is $8.00.

    It's the red carpet premiere of "American Reunion" (2012) at 5:00 p.m. at Grauman's Chinese. Anyone may watch the stars arrive for free.

    "Signs" (2002) airs at the Cinefamily at 7:30 p.m. with Doug Benson and his famous friends interrupting. The cast and directors of "Jeff Who Lives at Home" -- Jason Segal, Ed Helms, and the Duplass brothers -- will appear to help Benson. It costs $12.00 to join in the fun.

    "Artists and Models" (1937) and "Easy Living" (1937) screen at the Bing Theater at 5905 Wilshire at 7:30 p.m. as part of USC's "100 Years of Paramount Pictures." Admission is $10.00.
