HBO will sink its fangs into “True Blood” for a seventh season, it was announced today. Paybler plans to bow the seventh run of the vampire drama next summer.
“’True Blood’ remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers,” noted HBO programming prez Michael Lombardo. “Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”
Series, created by Alan Ball, returned for season six on June 26 and continues to pull solid ratings for HBO on the net’s primetime Sunday lineup. Exec producer Brian Buckner will return as showrunner for the seventh season.
“True Blood” is exec produced by Buckner along with Ball, Gregg Fienberg and Alexander Woo.
