The new trailer for "The Great Gatsby" is overstuffed with flappers, bootleggers and Roaring Twenties shenanigans.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann ("Moulin Rouge!") and starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby and Carey Mulligan as Daisy, it's very much an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel for the A.D.D. set. As the camera swoons and swoops about Great Neck, Luhrmann doesn't go for subtlety: Gatsby's green light looks like it was inspired by "The Wizard of Oz"s' Emerald City.
It's a visual feast, but will Luhrmann be able to capture the novel's wounded heart in addition to its colorful backdrop?
With DiCaprio and Mulligan chicly dressed and Tobey Maguire looking suitably puppy-doggish as Nick Carraway, the film hits theaters in 3D on May 10.
