Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is gearing up to star alongside Tom Cruise in the thriller "Oblivion," according to Deadline.
The actor, who stars as "Kingslayer" Jaime Lannister in HBO's "Game of Thrones," will head to Louisiana in March for the project from director Joseph Kosinski ("TRON: Legacy"), the website reported.

The sci-fi film is based on the comic book from Arvid Nelson and the director.
According to a description of "Oblivion" on Barnes & Noble's website, the plot takes shape when Jak, a surface drone repairman finds a mystery woman in a pod that crash lands on the nearly uninhabitable earth's surface.

Tom is expected to play Jak. Nikolaj, according to Deadline, will play Skyes, a weapons expert.
The film will also star Morgan Freeman, and former Bond beauty Olga Kurylenko.
"Oblivion" is expected to be released in 2012. "Game of Thrones" Season 2 premieres April 1 on HBO.

A rep for Universal, the studio behind "Oblivion," did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Access Hollywood.
