While the “Entourage” movie is still in development, the show’s “Turtle,” Jerry Ferrara, is continuing to stay busy on the film side as he is set to star in the indie “The Life” from “Holy Rollers” producer Danny A. Abeckaser.
The pic also stars Abeckaser, Jessica Szohr and Robert Davi with Fabrizio Conte helming.
Story revolves around a distraught young man who is trying to make a name for himself while dealing with his sick father who has just suffered a stroke. The guy is taken in by a night club promoter who shows him the ropes of how to work the New York City night club scene.
The man soon begins making money to help pay for his father’s medical expenses but when he has a falling out with the promoter, he must figure out how to take on opening the biggest underground New York City night club on his own while also outsmarting his former mentor who has a vendetta out to ruin him.
Abeckaser, Ryan O’Nan and Ryan Vallan penned the script with Per Melita joining Abeckaser as a producer.
Unlike his co-stars, who have stayed very low-key since “Entourage” ended its run, Ferrara has boarded numerous features. He co-starred in the hit comedy “Think Like a Man,” which already has a sequel set to bow next June and co-stars with Michael Douglas and Robert De Niro in “Last Vegas.” He is also expected to star in the upcoming “Entourage” movie and has a small role in Pete Berg’s “Lone Survivor.”
He is repped by WME and Leverage Management and Abeckaser is repped by CAA and manager Byron Wetzel.
