Angelina Jolie is heading to the East Coast in the run up to Christmas.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Irish actress Saoirse Ronan was only 13-years-old when she took the part of a murdered girl who watches over her grieving family in "The Lovely Bones." But even at such a young age, she never once worried about playing a dead person.

"I never really thought of Susie Salmon as someone who was dead," says Ronan, now 15, of her "Bones" character. "Although her body is dead, her soul is still there. That's what makes Susie who she is and that's what I love about her."

BEVERLY HILLS, California - The A-list dinner party drew top performers and singing legends.

George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bruce Willis, Larry David, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie gathered around Jerry Weintraub's table at the posh UNICEF Ball in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel ballroom Thursday night to honor the legendary producer's philanthropic work. Clooney presented Weintraub with the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award, named after the late singer-actor.

The project comes with its own heartthrob in the form of Brad Pitt -- albeit as a producer, not actor.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Capote" filmmaker Bennett Miller is in negotiations to direct "Moneyball," a baseball drama starring Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland A's who rewrote the unwritten rulebook of baseball.

Columbia's on-again, off-again project got back on track in recent weeks as Pitt and the producers -- Michael De Luca, Scott Rudin and Rachael Horovitz -- met with potential directors. A Steven Soderbergh-directed iteration of the project was scrapped in June. The movie began its rehabilitation with when Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing," "Sports Night") was brought on to write a draft, drawing upon Steve Zaillian's earlier take.
