It was a very happy New Year indeed for Eli Young Band bass player Jon Jones.
The musician, 32, welcomed a baby boy with his wife of two years, Sarah, on Dec. 31 near Fort Worth, Texas, a rep for the group confirms to Us Weekly. Son Hudson Lennon Jones was born at 1:30 p.m. and weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces. He measured 21 inches long.

The couple actually expected their little bundle-of-joy a week earlier, before Christmas, but baby boy Hudson had other plans. Fortunately, the birth went off smoothly in just a few short hours, and both mother and son were able to make it home in time to see the ball drop on New Year's Eve.
Jones' bandmates, on the other hand, rang in 2013 together after performing a scheduled show in Oklahoma (minus the proud new papa, of course). The group is nominated for a 2013 Grammy for their hit song "Even If It Breaks Your Heart."
Hudson is the first baby for Jones and his wife.
