DC Direct Unveils 'Dark Knight Rises' Statues, Busts

Batman fans better start saving their dollars for a new batch of collectibles based on the upcoming Warner Bros. film "The Dark Knight Rises." DC Direct, the exclusive collectibles division of DC Entertainment, announced a new line of products, including action figures, busts, and statues based on legendary characters from the movie. Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer for DC Entertainment, commented on the new line of collectibles.

"The DC Direct team has put together an amazing line-up for 2012," he said. "'The Dark Knight Rises' line [is] especially exciting, and the team has set the bar high as far as creative execution. We're proud and psyched to share these collectibles with the world at Toy Fair. This is the tip of the iceberg with what we've got planned for DC Direct this year and beyond."

Images of four different "The Dark Knight Rises" items were posted with the announcement. The first is a full figure statue of Batman in a fist-clenched action pose. The second is a statue featuring Catwoman in full body suit wearing night vision goggles and crouching like a feline. The third one is a full-figure Bane statue with his arms outstretched. The last photo shows three busts of Batman, Catwoman, and Bane from the waist up.

The Catwoman bust and statue gives Batman enthusiasts a peek at what Anne Hathaway will look like in her costume. The bust shows her with ears and mask. The statue shows the rest of her body suit and boots. However, she only has goggles on with no ears for the full-figure statue.

No images of the action figures were released. It'll be interesting to see what DC Direct will be doing for those. However, the highly detailed images of the newly announced products will definitely get fans of the Caped Crusader excited for "The Dark Knight Rises."
