How Bridesmaids Star Ellie Kemper Is Prepping for the Oscars

Ellie Kemper had grand ideas about how to prep for the 84th Annual Academy Awards, but unfortunately, they never came to fruition.

"I thought I would definitely do a juice cleanse and I just couldn't do it. They're so hard!" Kemper, 31, told Us Weekly at the 14th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills Tuesday. "I get sick, so I'm not doing it."

Kemper added that she's "totally nervous" to walk the red carpet. "I don't have a dress yet. It just has to be amazing. It's the Oscars!"

"I probably should be preparing more but I don't know enough of the secrets," Kemper told Us. "Lots of water and no ice cream. I always eat ice cream, but this week it's no ice cream!"

The Bridesmaids actress will no doubt be rooting for costars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, who are nominated in the Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay categories, respectively. Kemper, who plays Erin Hannon on The Office, is slated to present one of the awards.

"I think the writers of the show are preparing a script for us, but I personally don't want to ad-lib," she told Us. "I'm going to be super nervous. I just want to have something to say. I just want to get in and out without messing up."

The 84th Annual Academy Awards airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
