    Berlin: Mister Smith Entertainment Expands

    LONDON/LOS ANGELES– February 6, 2013: Eight months after launching at the 2012 Cannes International Film Festival, Mister Smith Entertainment (MSE) CEO David Garrett today announced the expansion of the MSE team with offices now in Los Angeles, Paris and London.

    Jill Jones joins as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Publicity. Jones, formerly EVP Marketing and Publicity for Lionsgate, and prior to that Summit Entertainment, oversaw the international releases of the Twilight franchise. Jones, who will report directly to Garrett, will be based in Paris and London. She will oversee international marketing operations heading a team that includes new hires Pamela Godwin-Austen as Senior Vice President International Publicity and Andrew Boyd, Senior Vice President International Marketing, whose primary focus will be the DreamWorks Studios slate distributed by Mister Smith in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Both executives will be based in Los Angeles. In addition, London-based Annasivia Britt, continues to anchor the team in Europe as Vice President, Marketing and Publicity. As part of the new expansion, Tracy McCrory, previously a Vice President at Miramax and Warner Bros., joins the London Headquarters as Executive Vice President of Delivery and Servicing overseeing all of Mister Smith’s titles and reporting directly to CEO David Garrett.

Jill, Tracy, Pam and Boyd all bring established relationships with the international film community and a wealth of marketing, PR, and distribution expertise to the Mister Smith slate.”

    Mister Smith Entertainment’s slate includes the highly anticipated 2013 release of the Constantin Film’s production THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES (Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell-Bower, Robert Sheehan, Dir. Harald Zwart) based on Cassandra Clare’s No. 1 best-selling book series, and Inimitable Pictures’ IMAGINE, Dan Fogelman’s directorial debut starring Academy Award® winner Al Pacino, Academy Award® nominee Jeremy Renner and Academy Award® nominee Julianne Moore, which starts filming in April this year; the romantic comedy LOVE, ROSIE starring Lily Collins and Sam Claflin from the best-selling novel by Cecelia Ahern (P.S. I LOVE YOU) and to be directed by Christian Ditter due to start principal photography in May; and compelling true story 3,096 DAYS, based on the autobiography of Natascha Kampusch, the Austrian girl who was held captive for over 8 years and whose escape made headlines around the world. The film is due for release in early 2013.

    The DreamWorks Studios deal with Mister Smith, established in September 2012, includes upcoming features DELIVERY MAN (Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt, Scr./Dir. Ken Scott) currently in post-production, the WikiLeaks drama THE FIFTH ESTATE (Benedict Cumberbatch, Daniel Bruhl, Laura Linney, Anthony Mackie, David Thewlis, Peter Capaldi, Dan Stevens, Alicia Vikander and Carice van Houten, Dir. Bill Condon) currently in production, and NEED FOR SPEED (Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Michael Keaton, Imogen Poots, Dir. Scott Waugh) which starts principal photography in April.

    Jill Jones was previously EVP International Marketing and Publicity at Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment where, in addition to the international releases of the Twilight franchise, she oversaw the international launch of films including THE IMPOSSIBLE, and the Palm D’Or winner THE TREE OF LIFE. Prior to her position at Summit Jones held SVP Publicity and Marketing positions with the international publicity agency DDA and Canada’s Alliance Atlantis.

    Tracy McCrory was previously Vice President, Distribution Services at Colony Capital Investors (Miramax) where she oversaw the transition of Miramax assets from Disney to Miramax and handled all Miramax delivery needs. Prior to that she was Vice President of International Distribution Services at Warner Bros. She came to Warner Bros as Vice President of International Distribution at New Line Cinema.

    Andrew Boyd segues to Mister Smith from OddLot Entertainment/Affinity International, where he was Vice President Marketing & Publicity for five years. Prior to that, he was Director of Marketing at Mandate Pictures and Lakeshore International.

    Pamela Godwin-Austen most recently oversaw international publicity campaigns for Lionsgate/Summit, including the Twilight franchise, and Sony Pictures Releasing International. Godwin-Austen was President and founder of the Los Angeles branch of UK publicity firm Premier PR, and prior to that was Senior VP International at Dennis Davidson Associates.
