While the first Beautiful Creatures trailer focused on teenage romance, a newly-released promo fills in the blanks.
Adapted from the first YA novel in the Caster Chronicles series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, Beautiful Creatures follows two star-crossed lovers Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), who wishes to escape from his town, and the mysterious newcomer Lena (Alice Englert), who harbors a power that will manifest itself on her 16th birthday as part of a "Claiming" ritual.

The new trailer offers more footage from the forthcoming adaptation, including more backstory on Lena's powerful family -- highlighted by a warning, of sorts, by Ridley Duchaness (Emmy Rossum) -- and the biggest danger facing her.
Written and directed by Richard LaGravenese, Beautiful Creatures co-stars Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons and Viola Davis.
