'The Avengers' 3.75 Inch Figures Inspired by Upcoming Movie

Toy manufacturer Hasbro is gearing up for the release of "The Avengers" with the release of several different movie tie-ins for what is sure to be one of the biggest comic book movies of the year. There are costumes, plushies, bobbleheads, statues, and other items just waiting for fans to pick them up.

One of the most popular products will be the line of 3.75 inch action figures. Marvel's "Avengers" characters are tailor-made for kids, guaranteeing these will be flying off the shelves.

One of the newest batches of figures released features seven different versions of characters. There's Reactron Armor Iron Man, Gamma Smash Hulk, Fusion Armor Iron Man, Cosmic Spear Loki, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Skrull Soldier. Each one comes with its own accessories, several points of articulation, and is excellently detailed.

Reactron Armor Iron Man is suited up in his black, blue, and red Mark VI armor. He is armed with a huge plasma claw launcher. Fusion Armor Iron Man is suited up in his classic red and gold Mark VII armor. He utilizes a red, gold, and blue spinning saw blade as a weapon

Gamma Smash Hulk is fully detailed and comes with all he needs -- a mighty clenched fist ready to pound his enemies into oblivion.

In terms of the S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives, Hawkeye comes in his black costume and sunglasses armed with a bow and two red torpedo arrows. Black Widow is dressed in her black costume and uses a handgun and launching rifle as weapons.

As for the villains, the elegantly helmeted Cosmic Spear Loki comes with his infamous weapon and snap-out blades which can serve as two different instruments of death. The most exciting figure for collectors is probably the Skrull Soldier. The green alien warrior comes armed with both a small and large laser rifle, fully prepared for battle against opponents.

One customer who called herself "Mom with Kids who love Action Toys" from Walnut Creek, California, complained, "This 'Avenger' line of Iron Man toys with Spinning Saw Blade and another with a weapon that fires two missiles are poorly made. The accessory appears meant for clipping on to the figures arm or hand. Unfortunately, each time the child tries to spin the blade, or fire the missile, the accessory pops off."

A collector from Los Angeles named Chris stated, "Cosmic Spear Loki is a great likeness for a small figure; fits in well with previous Marvel movie figures and has a great paint job and beautiful detail."

"The Avengers" 3.75 inch figures are recommended for ages 4 and up. They come with a choking hazard warning because of small pieces. Each figure retails for around $8.99.
