Anna Faris To Star In Chuck Lorre's CBS Sitcom Pilot

Life is imitating art for Anna Faris - the actress gave birth to her first child in August and now, she's set to play a mom on the small screen.

The 36-year-old funny gal, best known for her roles in "The Dictator," "The House Bunny," "Just Friends" and the "Scary Movie" franchise, has nabbed the starring role in Chuck Lorre's upcoming CBS comedy pilot, "Mom," according to TV Line.

The multi-camera sitcom will center around Faris as a "newly sober single mom" who (perhaps not-so-wisely) chooses California's wine shrine Napa Valley as her home, the website reported.

Lorre (co-creator/co-showrunner of "Two and a Half Men") co-wrote the new show with "... Men" alumni Gemma Baker and Eddie Gorodetsky.

In addition to "Mom," Faris will soon be seen on the big screen in the upcoming rom-com "I Give It A Year," alongside "The Mentalist" star Simon Baker, Rose Byrne and Minnie Driver.

The actress married "Parks and Recreation" star Chris Pratt in 2009, and the couple welcomed son Jack on August 25.

By Todd Cunningham LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Iron Man 3" was soaring past $1 billion at the worldwide box office Thursday, in a display of world domination that would make one of Marvel's super villains proud.
