"Anchorman: The Legend Continues" is set for wide release on Dec. 20, 2013, a Paramount Pictures spokeswoman told TheWrap.
The studio, which took over the franchise for DreamWorks, announced in March that star Will Ferrell would reunite with co-stars Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner.

Earlier this month, TheWrap reported exclusively that Kristen Wiig was circling a role in the sequel.
"Anchorman 2" will be produced by Judd Apatow.
