Action-packed and heartwarming?

Believe it or not, that combination comes together beautifully in the martial arts film Chocolate. Zen is an autistic girl who has an uncanny ability to react to objects around her. Her best friend/brother, Moom, takes that and uses it to get money out of the common people to aid their sick mother. However, when the find her mother's list of debts to be paid, the two find a whole new way to make money. After Ong-Bak and The Protector, they manage to do it again going above and beyond. The action sequences are sharply choreographed and the film has a fairly decent portrayal of autism. For those looking for a good modern-day martial arts movie, Chocolate's a tasty treat. |
