I enjoy the suspense/thriller/shootem-up genre more than most and it is hard to put in words just how awful this movie is. For one, there is not a single character in this movie that you give a hoot about. A great villain character is essential to such a movie, but this low budget cinematographic nightmare didn't have one. The villain is an international bank. How do you boo a bank? The plot is contrived, is unexplainable and leads nowhere. The New York City action has the lead and his mortally wounded prisoner escaping the Gugenheim one minute and inexplicably showing up at the Hudson River one second later where the guy dies without adding anything to the story, only to have the screenwriter refer to the body of water as a resevoir, of which there are none in New York City. Even the dressers and makeup people cannot keep the scenes straight between takes with collar outside the vest one moment and inside the vest the next as an example. This picture is a directing, editing, screenwriting and acting trainwreck. |
