how many of us white guys have dads or uncles who are the inspiration for this film? Not truly racist, but mad at the changing world, and all the different looking people invading their way of life. This film will hit home for all of you who had dads that would warn you once, then smack your butt instead of telling you twice.
Gun-loving, change-fearing, immigrant-loathing old white guys who grew up in a simpler world, where everything (and everyONE)was black and white.
But, as we know, they were never quite as sinister as they wanted to appear.
Clint nails this character, his acting is superb, the script shamefully funny (i was the only one in the theater laughing at some of the racist jokes)
This film is shocking, touching, and even has a surprise ending. I loved it in a way i could love very few films.
Dont let the bad acting by the supporting cast bother you!
And dont be afraid to laugh, most of the racist jokes were uneccessary, but Mr Eastwood kept them coming in his sly, non-politically correct way, so i enjoyed them in the spirit in which they were given
