We enjoyed this movie. Being Asian, I was intrigued when I saw the commercials. Like someone else referenced, you don't see movies with an Asian twist in the story (unless it's got Jackie Chan, Jet Li or Bruce Lee). We enjoyed the story, humor and turnaround of a man who seem to hate everything except his wife.
The supporting actor portrayed your stereotypical quiet asian kid. Some feel he's not the best actor which could be true but in this case, believable. He reminded me of many kids I went to elementary school with; didn't say much and didn't want to cause any trouble; hoping he'd live through the next round of abuse.
The movie got my child to think and ask questions when we were leaving. So for me, anytime a movie gets a young mind to get into deep thought about the storyline and how much truth there is, that's a good show. |
