I like this show a lot because it had a somewhat happy ending. I liked the story itself somewhat except for how they tied it to Earth. I think that the story lends itself to a sequel very well... or better a television series. What is coming next is very harsh and I wish to reiterate that I like the movie itself because it was interesting and it had a happy ending. I am very thankful for that.
I simply like stories about space exploration and all that entails... which includes colonization. Yet, how Earth figured into the ship and its mission was fundamentally flawed. One, while human population may have a growth patter similar to a bell shaped curve; So does, human's ingenuity in our ability to feed, and take care, of ourself. Two, our planet's destruction is a massive megalomaniacal delusion of grandeur.
Our species, may have a very remote chance of destroying our actual planet; Yet, it would take a concerted effort of the supermajority of the human population to achieve such a suicidal endeavor. Also, "Pandorum" could have been created by any number of factors beyond destroying our home planet. I just wish Hollywood would forget their suicidal masochistic need to destroy the whole entire planet seemingly biannually.
First, we had "Knowing" which was fundamentally flawed. Second, we have this "Pandorum". And next we have 2012 which is even more flawed than the first two in Hollywood's attempt to pervert and distort the Mayan prophesy and calendar to suit their meglomaniacal masochistic suicidal delusions of grander. I mean, really now, the Earth has been around for a lot longer than we have and there is a high probability that it will be around a lot longer after we leave our mortal coils behind. However, one may find it hard to be aware of that with just paying attention to the religious science Hollywood puts forth. |
