If you're a true horror buff who has grown weary of the sanitized PG-13 torture porn that Hollywood has been serving up for the 5 years or so, have I got a movie for you. This tricked-out variation on the 1981 classic trumps the original and moves at a break-neck speed from the very beginning. The body count is high. The kills are brutal and bloody. Unlike most recent horror flicks, the acting was good and the cameras did not tend to turn away when victims were slaughtered, so as to let your imagination fill in the gory details. As if all this weren't enough, the action is in 3D. Yes, that's right, you get pick axes, bullets, and even body parts coming right out of the screen and (seemingly) into your lap. This flick was both worth the wait and the full price of admission! |
