Well I’m an independent so hopefully you take this review for what it’s worth! This film is not a Bomb and yes it does have a couple moments that make you laugh. I’m sure Democrats salivate and Republicans cringe when they see this film. That being said let’s get beyond politics and get down to what we pay to see, a Movie. Anyone who thinks this movie is close to “The Departed” is crazy, I’d say it’s more in line with “Larry the cable guy” I think that is an honest review, and on a personal note I miss Oliver Stone’s old movies………………..forget politics and entertain us with a good film Oliver. Also it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this movie was released right before an election to get hype and increase ticket sales. God I live for the day when Hollywood stops with marketing and pushing an agenda for the love of GOD just makes a good movie. Oliver Stone is way too good to put his name in the credits of this movie. Scarface, Wall Street, Platoon, Midnight Express need I say more the man has talent. What I do take exception to is this JFK, Nixon, The Day Regan was shot and now W are on loosely based on history and embellished for effect. In a day when more and more people believe what they see on TV, in a movie, or online I think it is criminal not to make a movie that is as factually based as possible. |
