The acting was o.k. I thought a few characters were widely off the real people. The direction was good. The visuals were o.k.
The story was pretty bad. The story of George Bush just isn't that interesting. The added drama about him wanting to be like his Daddy and finding religion is funny but not really I'm glad I sat in here for this long funny. I know the whole "based on a true story" thing is always a lie. We really don't know much about Bush's private life or what happened behind closed doors at the White House. So I'm totally cool with them taking creative liberties and making Bush look foolish. What bugged me was when they changed a fact that was well documented, even televised and made it different from what Bush actually said or acted like or moved. They even changed the clothes he wore. Why not do those scenes exactly like they factually happened. Even from a liberal slant Bush could easily be ripped on for a lot of those situations/conversations, there was no need to change them.
I had my hopes up for this movie and they were shot down. |
