The fact that “I Love You, Man” got such high marks from everyone else just continues to substantiate my claim that I feel like I’m in a zombie or pod people movie. Everyone has lost their sobriety/mind and shaking them to come to their senses, as in this review, only results in a blank stare and a primordial grunt.
For those of you who chant the mantra of porn is becoming mainstream I’m sure I’m getting booed off the virtual stage right now. For those of you who have not succumbed to the collective don’t waste your dime on this movie.
I LOVED the idea of the movie and it could have been great entertainment. But I hated the pornographic low-brow dialogue thrown at you like so much machine gun fire. If I wanted that I would just skipped to the chase and go to the seedy part of town and catch a triple X. And much like taking a sip of a drink thinking its one thing and finding out it tastes like feces, I spit it out and left for another movie.
More and more, asking Hollywood to make a "good" movie for you to consume is like asking the pre-incarcerated Jeffrey Dahmer to make you a “good” dinner. Chances are you’ll get a mouthful of something…well….unexpectedly wretched. |
