After seeing the screening of "NOTORIOUS" last night in DC I give it 4 stars.
I really enjoyed the movie. It captivated me for the whole two hours. Honestly the time in the movies flew pretty quickly, it didn't feel like 2 hours. The portrayl of Lil Kim "humanized" her. It showed the softer non-street side and I really liked seeing that. I also loved getting the grass roots visual connection that Puff and Poppa had. This insight is very inspiring. Not only because of their dedication to each other, but also because you see where Puff is now and how he had to work from scratch to create Bad Boy and Poppa's belief in the dream to get out of the game. I love the visual relationship between Pac and Poppa as well. I had read about it but the movie brought it to light. Remembering the East Coast West Coast rivalry grounded me while watching the movie.
I recommend that you see this movie if you "Have A Dream" any dream and life looks hopeless for you. I recommend this movie if you loved either Pac or Poppa. I recommend this movie if you love inspiration.
My only negative comments:
~ DO NOT take your kids to see this movie [anyone under 18 in my opinion]. The sex and sexual connotations are a bit much in some scenes. You will have alot of explaining to do.
~ The profanity was off the chain. Don't go in with a choir boy ears.... take your street ears lol

4 star rating because of the great acting, the inspiration, and the insight into Poppas relationships with his loves, his mother, Pac, Puffy, and most importantly "Himself". |
