David Frears of the Time Out New York states “'Notorious' delivers nothing but clumsy filmmaking and a greatest-hits checklist, without offering insight into the man or his myth.". He’s wrong. There was nothing clumsy about the filmmaking. David is right about the “greatest-hits checklist, without offering insight into the man or his myth.” Come on, the movie is about the life of Notorious B.I.G. so there will be a greatest-hit checklist. What you see in the movie is a story of man. You don’t see anything about Biggies myth because there isn’t one to tell. Christopher Wallace is no myth. He was here and put out music that we still play today. The only myth about Biggie is his death. This film isn’t about his mythical death, it’s about Christopher Wallace and how he became Notorious B.I.G. This movie is worth seeing over and over again. By the way Jamal Woolard didn’t an excellent job. There were points in the movie that I thought he was Biggie and to tell the truth the movie was so into Biggie’s life that I forgot that he was going to pass at the end. GREAT FILM, GO WATCH IT! |
