When the action finally starts it's like gratuitous and maybe an hour into the film. If ever an action movie could be a bore, this is it. And what was the most offensive part: this movie was based on the Max Payne games like pizza is based on ketchup. I've played both games twice and there's no resemblance; just the names: Mona, Max, the detective. It leads me to believe that they said it was based on the game to draw gamers in. It's a cheat. And where did Max start taking Valkyrie? Never. Where were the pain pills? The variety of weapons? Where was the slo mo? Where was the bullet time?? Two shots of slo mo, one shot of bullet time and that was in a single scene and wasn't even from Max's gun. There were no hallucinations of demons (angels) in the games.....An INSULTING bore with a cheap unimaginably dull quick ending. This movie was as bad and one-dimensional, as Iron Man was great (D- vs. A+). And the acting: standards just as low as for the action - no emotions. If I were Wahlberg I'd be embarrassed. D. One star/10. Even Jumper was better and Jumper was dull and sucked. |
