This Film Is Great!

I saw this movie on Friday and I must say, it is not only Tyler Perry's best film to date, but just an overall great film in general! In my opinion, if you saw it, you wouldn't even think it had anything to do with TP (but of course it'll be slightly underrated because it did).
As for the people who love to judge movies before they even see them (if they ever even do), I am not of the African American race and this film was not "just another black comedy" or whatever rude remark you like to give. I understand that not all films created by blacks or featuring a mostly black cast are funny, they usually actually tend to make the black race look trashy, and sometimes the way they portray certain things can come off as racist to white people, but there are actually some good films by and featuring blacks that are funny and entertaining, whether there's humor or not. You really have to watch something and then judge for yourself. The majority of certain films may make you feel a specific way, but not all of them. So please give every kind of film a chance and don't judge it so harshly, especially if you haven't even seen it. Also, don't go by what other people say. We each think differently and respond to things differently. So while a friend of yours may think a particular movie is garbage, you may end up loving it!
Anyways, back to the movie, I loved it and can't wait for the DVD! It was a really enjoyable film, had a great cast, Alfre and Kathy made a fantastic duo. The only downside is that parts of it were kind of sad. Although, that helps makes it such a good film. For those wondering, it actually didn't have that much humor in it. I mean, it did, but it wasn't the obviously made to be funny material like you see in most films. There wasn't insults, trash talk, etc. like you're usually used to hearing/seeing.
Also, I know that it might seem like I was over defending the black race or this film to some people, but that wasn't what I was trying to do. I was just trying to defend good movies in general (whether it's this one or not) and to show that just because films are made by or feature mostly a certain race (doesn't have to be black), that doesn't mean they are always bad. |
