I read the book about 8 months ago and was excited to hear about the movie. The movie was good, the acting was great, and I think that Sofia Vassilieva deserves an award for her outstanding performance.
However, I couldn't believe the ending. How can you take a story which was all about how Anna was brought into this world to save her sister, how she fought to stop; and in the end she won her court case.
What the movie doesn't cover, is that it is ironic that the book ends with Anna helping her sister because Anna dies in a car accident.
The director should be shot for the change in the ending! The movie would have been very powerful if the original ending had been kept. |
